Switch on/off Open Item Management

I am trying to change the setting of the master data for a GL account in a company code from ‘Open Item Managed’ to ‘not open item managed’.

I have cleared all the items on the GL account, but when I try to save the change it gives me an error – ‘Account Balance = 0 – but open items exist in the account. When I check using Trans code FBL3N there are no open items.

What should I do next??

There are transaction code RFSEPA02 (Switch On) and RFSEPA03 (Switch Off) (Note: 175960). We have to copy those program to be ZFSEPA02 and ZFSEPA03.

Solution:
Block the relevant account for posting in the company code then execute the program ZFSEPA03. After that
unblock that account.

The open item will be switched off automatically for the account.

You will discover that reports RFSEPA02 and RFSEPA03 are no longer supported as of Release 4.5A anymore. When starting, you receive a dialog box requesting you to create a new account with correct account control, and so on.

However, you want to use the old functions of RFSEPA02/03. You must use RFSEPA02 as it is urgently recommended by SAP (in Note 158254 for example). 158254.
