Department field (T023-ABTNR) in Material Group (SAP table: T023) can be maintained by using WG22 transaction

 

Material Groups in SAP system

With material groups you group materials with the same attributes or purpose.

Material groups in SAP system can be used to:

  • Limit the scope of analyses
  • Systematically search for material master records via matchcodes

 

In the component Sales and Distribution (SD), you can assign material groups to divisions.

In OMSF transaction, define Material Group in SAP system

  1. Define your material groups.
  2. Assign each material to a material group.
