SAP Process : Reorganize Sessions and Logs

Some question about the processed items in Batch Input Session. We found that there is no any processed item/log under processed tab in batch input session.

So the question is why the processed items are deleted?

Batch Input: Reorganize Sessions and Logs

The program RSBDCREO will delete only successfully “processed” batch session. This SAP standard program will do reorganization on APQD table (control BDC session). Otherwise, the table will become so big.

The SAP program RSBDCREO does the following:

  1. Deletes (sucessfully) processed sessions still in the system and their logs. Only these sessions are deleted and not “sessions still to be processed”, “sessions with errors”, and so on.
  2. Deletes logs, for which sessions no longer exist.

Technical information for log reorganization

Logs are stored in the TemSe. You can use transaction SP11 (TemSe administration) to display the logs. Program BDCSYS generates TemSe objects.

The relationships between batch input sessions and logs and the corresponding TemSe object are stored in database table APQL. This is why batch input logs cannot be reorganized using TemSe reorganization, but must be reorganized using program RSBDCREO or transactions SM35/SM35P.
