This table overflowed when trying to enter SAP locks in the lock table.

System Response

The locks could not be set.

Contact your system administrator. If this error occurs frequently, change the size of the profile parameter ‘enque/table_size‘. This parameter defines the size of the lock table in KByte.

There are many reasons why lock table overflows. When you try to lock a object or change a object, a SAP system message: “lock table overflow” might be happening.

There are many reasons, a lock table overflow can occur if:

· The lock table is configured too small
· An application sets a large number of locks
· The update process is hanging and this is passing a lot of locks onto the update task.

Above reasons are only a few of the reasons why the lock overflow occurs.

What Does The SAP R/3 Acronym mean?

The SAP R/3 acronym stands for System, Anwendungen, Produckte in der Datenverarbeitung or in English means System, Application & Products in Data Processing.
