Difference between transaction key KDB and KDF
What is the difference between SAP transaction key KDB and KDF?
Both transaction keys determine which account will be posted when there is gain/loss from exchange rate conversion.
Exch. Rate Diff. using Exch. Rate Key (Transaction Key: KDB)
Exchange Rate Dif.: Open Items/GL Acct (Transaction Key: KDF)
Exch. Rate Diff. using Exch. Rate Key(KDB) can be done for SAP GL accountswhich does not have open item managed accounts. It will not work for GL accounts which be open item management. Exch. Rate Diff. using Exch. Rate Key(KDB) is used for balance valuation.
If the GL account is open item managed account then we have to assign exchange rate difference account (gain and loss account) through Exchange Rate Dif.: Open Items/GL Acct (Transaction Key: KDF)
Note: Key for Exchange Rate Differences in Foreign Currency Accts in SAP (KDB)
