Update for License Key Request Application
1. The license key request application for SAP BusinessObjects products has been enhanced by information messages for:
- Test & Development Licenses
- Installation numbers not linked to contract
- Conversion needed
2. New function available to create system ID for non-SAP technology based solutions without requesting a license key:
With this function customers are able to create systems without a license key for all applications based on non-SAP NetWeaver technology (e.g. Microsoft .net based applications/acquired applications which are not fully converted to SAP NetWeaver) with the exception of SAP BusinessObjects applications.
A list of appropriate and designated applications will be shown in the create process of this tool.

The CIC Hotline numbers for Brazil, CESE & Baltic countries, the Benelux and South Africa are changing. The current SAP Hotline numbers will be available until 15th of April 2010.

How to efficiently use the new SAP Netweaver BW intregration in SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius
SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius is a widely used dashboarding tool. It has the capability to show data from various sources and data bases, including data residing in the SAP NetWeaver BW. With the latest version of Xcelsius and SAP NetWeaver BW 7.01 SP5, we offer a new connection type for BW data that offers a tighter integration of BW data into Xcelsius dashboards.
In addition, the Xcelsius dashboard can be stored on the BW server and is integrated into the BW infrastructure, providing features such as transport, translation support, where-used lists, and collection of dependent objects.
With the new SAP NetWeaver integration in Xcelsius users have the possibility to use a great number of features of SAP NetWeaver BW directly.

Configure SSL for SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1
SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 uses HTTP protocol as default data communications between the DOE and clients. Use of HTTP protocol may not meet your security requirement since the business data may be intercepted by unauthorized parties.
You can configure to use The SSL based HTTPS protocol, in which the data exchange is encrypted and requiring a certificate. In this document, HTTPS connection configurations are explained.

SAP Netweaver Process Integration: RELEASE RECOMMENDATION

This SAP document sets out SAP’s recommendation on which release of SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI) customers and partners should use.
SAP recommends that you use the highest version of SAP NetWeaver PI. This is currently Enhancement Package 1 (EHP 1) for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1.
The main reasons for this recommendation are as follows:
Customers of SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 If you who would like to use the new functions of SAP NetWeaver PI then you must move to a new release of SAP NetWeaver PI because there will not be any new functions provided for SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) 3.0.
